Rachel believes good design comes from listening to clients’ needs and translating those into a strong plan that marries beauty, honesty of materials, and a thoughtful use of budget. She draws inspiration from research on place and from her travels in places like Europe, India, and New Zealand.

She holds an undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Virginia and a Master’s of Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin. While working, she enjoys listening to music with strong percussion, especially Green Day or the Beastie Boys, which reminds her of learning to draft and model build in Campbell Hall, circa 1999.
